Welcome! We are glad that you will be joining us for one of our monthly luncheons. Women in Leadership of Central Illinois or WIL promotes leadership among women and we do this best at our luncheons.
What to expect at our luncheons…
Plan to arrive around 11:30 am.
When you enter the WIL luncheon room, you will need to check in with the WIL Treasurer and get your guest name badge. If you chose to pay in-person when you registered, you will do that too. Bring business cards with you as we do drawings for free stuff!
The other table near the registration table is the raffle and silent auction table. Each month members are encouraged to bring items for the raffle or silent auction. We promote that you bring an item for the silent auction during your birth month, but you can bring an item anytime. Members and guests are invited to participate in bidding on silent auction items. WIL accepts cash, check and card payments. Proceeds from the silent auction go towards the WIL Scholarship Fund.
The luncheon room is arranged with round tables. Seating is not reserved so sit at any table you like. WIL Board Members will be around to welcome you.
The buffet will open for service a little after 11:30 am. The buffet is different each month and will always have a vegetarian option. The desert is pretty delicious too! From 11:30-noon it is time to eat and network with the people at your table. Share your business cards with the people at your table too.
At noon, the business meeting will start and members of the WIL board will present their information. During this time all guests will be asked to stand and introduce themselves.
Once the business has concluded, the speaker will begin their presentation. We schedule speakers that cover a variety of topics. Each month you’ll hear from a new speaker with a new message.
Once the speaker has concluded, we end the meeting by celebrating each other’s accomplishments, this is called “Toot Your Horn.” For $2 per toot you can announce to the luncheon audience something that you want to “toot your horn” about.
Women that attend WIL luncheons come from all sectors and we are excited you are joining us. You can visit as a guest 3 times, but then we ask you to become a member to continue attending luncheons.
